Jonesboro Veterans Day Parade, Nov. 11
Show your patriotism by waiving your flags and joining us for the annual Veterans Day Parade and Reception on Tuesday, November 11th, in downtown Jonesboro. Honor those who understand the meaning of the word sacrifice: our military heroes and veterans, on this star-spangled holiday. A parade lineup begins at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Main and Cherry and will proceed down Main Street to a courthouse ceremony. Join us for this tribute to our military heroes
Holiday Pet Photos, Nov. 15
The Northeast Arkansas Humane Society will hold its annual holiday pet photos at Joey Glaub Fine Art Portraits, 677 Highway 91 West, Jonesboro. The event will begin Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Photos will continue on Monday, Nov. 17 from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6-9 p.m. Proceeds from this event will be used to support the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society shelter operations.
Valley View Musical, Nov. 15
The Valley View Drama Department is proud to announce their performance of Disney's musical AIDA through Musical Theater International. The musical is a beautiful ancient Egyptian story of slavery and romance, with music by Elton John. Opening night is Thursday, November 13th and the drama will run through the following Saturday, Nov. 15th. Fearless Caregiver Conference, Nov. 19

ABATE Motorcycle Ride, Nov. 22
Attention motorcycle riders.....The 24th annual Association MC ABATE District 2 2008 Toy Run will take place Saturday, November 22 here in Jonesboro. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Harley Davidson of Jonesboro with kick stands up at 2 o'clock sharp for this great toy run. The only fee is that you show up with at-least one $10 to $15 toy. Be prepared to make a short ride to the Clopten Clinic, where the toys will be loaded up and taken to Temple Baptist Church so workers can begin wrapping them for the First week of December. The toys will be delivered on Friday before Christmas. Ride and give a gift to kids in need.
Diabetes Awareness Conference, Nov. 22
November is National Diabetes awareness month and the Clopton Clinic Foundation is sponsoring the 3rd annual Diabetes Awareness Conference on Saturday, November 22 at Southwest Church of Christ here in Jonesboro from 8 am until noon. Free screenings will be offered for blood pressure, Hemoglobin, BMI, glaucoma, and more. Reservations can be made by calling Clopton Clinic at 336-2068.
United Way's 3rd Annual Silent Auction, Nov. 22
United Way of Northeast Arkansas will join together with The Mall at Turtle Creek on November 22 to present the United Way’s 3rd Annual Silent Auction. The auction will be located near the Dillard’s entrance in the mall and will go on from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. Mall merchants as well as other Northeast Arkansas businesses will have items up for bid making the auction a great way to shop for Christmas gifts. Donations for the silent auction are still being accepted. If you or your business would like to participate, please call the United Way office at 935-3658. Proceeds from the auction will help United Way work to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health. The goal is to create long-lasting change in Northeast Arkansas that prevents problems from happening in the first place.
Poinsettia Sale, Dec. 3
The Volunteer Council of Jonesboro Human Development Center is hosting its 5th annual holiday fundraiser....a poinsettia sale. Orders will be taken from November 1 to Deember 3 and prices are $20 for an 8 inch potted poinsettia. Place your order early by calling Ann Hatcher at 932-4043, ext. 225. Nothing says Christmas like a poinsettia. Decorate your home or give one to a loved one while supporting the Jonesboro Human Development Center.
